The Story

Valiano wines represent the core expression of the Piccini families commitment to quality and terroir. Valiano evokes the moving beauty of Tuscany, celebrating its ancient lands and its immortal charm, suspended between a smile and a glass of Chianti Classico. The vineyards benefit from a north-east exposure and an altitude ranging from 200 to 300 m a.s.l. The strong presence of limestone and fragmented stone guarantee excellent natural drainage.

Winemaking

The grapes are hand harvested at the beginning of October, when they reach perfect ripeness. The stalks are removed and the grapes undergo soft pressing. Temperature-controlled maceration takes place in stainless steel tanks, with frequent pumping over every day to obtain better extraction of colour, polyphenols, complexity and soft tannins. The wine then ages in large wooden barrels for 3 months prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes

Enveloping aroma of violets and wild berries. The sip is full and balanced, supported by a superb structure. The velvety tannic texture accompanies towards a soft finish of fruity notes.
